A Photo a Day Keep…. Part Two

A couple of weeks ago my last blog post was about taking a photo a day, and sending it off to a friend for use with their child's school project. Whether ski teaching beginners, intermediates or advanced skiers, it is always a pleasure to stop and have a look at the view. So with that in mind, I'd thought I would milk this subject a little longer and report on some of the views we've had here in Meribel the last two weeks.

We've had just the one snowfall to talk about since the last post, which came after a particularly long sweltering period. When the fresh snow arrived it felt like winter again, chilly temperatures helped produce gorgeous light snow under foot. There were smiles all around the resort, and shares in floppy hats and factor 50 sun cream stabilised after the recent spike on the stock exchange !?!

Don't forget you can click on each image for an enlarged version. Just a quick reminder of what my friend's son needed for his school project: A different image each day, altitude taken from and looking to, with general aspect ie North, South, East or West.

So there I am trying to think about how to market Michael and I as English speaking Private Ski Instructors, at the same time delivering quality lessons, and also thinking about snapping away for Tom's school project. But you know what? It made me realise even more again how unbelievable a place Meribel is. Those who know me well, will confirm that I'm not one for blowing my trumpet. But boy oh boy, Meribel is smack bang in the middle of the biggest ski area in the world. How incredible is that? Meribel valley itself is spot on, and then you add Courchevel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires and St.Martin into the equation.

Hang on a minute, without meaning to, I seem to be preaching again about the French Alps...... Time to calm down, take a deep breath, sip some coffee, and...... relax. Thanks to Tom's mother, I've had the opportunity to soak up even more how amazing the Alps are. But I guess you knew that already?

Both Michael and I are having a great end of season at the moment. Some reminiscing is going on already, and heaps of discussion about next winter, with a couple of possible changes afoot! There are quite a few blog posts backing up for the summer, and we haven't even reached the middle of April yet.

If you are heading out to the Alps for a late season Easter ski holiday, I hope you have a fantastic time. There is still loads of snow about, and the latest weather forecasts suggest that share prices of floppy hats and factor 50 sun block are about to sky rocket again.
