The Time Has Come

Posted on
November 18, 2017

The time has come Ladies and Gentlemen, time to head back to the French Alps for the winter. Yippee, high fives all round, performing backflips, and other childish silliness. Actually, I can't help myself, I'm going to run round all day skipping gaily, smiling and winking at strangers, topping up the caffeine levels and generally acting like a right wally. Because this coming winter in Meribel is going to be brilliant. Who would've thought that a ski instructor still continues to feel like this after so many years?

But then again, I'm guessing that because you are reading this article, you probably feel the same way leading up to your precious ski holiday. It's infectious isn't it?

I received a message at the beginning of the week from someone asking me if I had been looking at the latest webcams images. Of course I have, was the answer, I've been glued to them !?! If you haven't had a peek yourself, check them out because they are looking fabulous for this time of the year.

Even selecting these photos for the post has got me excited and put a smile on my face. Isn't this sport brilliant? I feel sorry for those that have never experienced the mountains and skiing, in fact last year I wrote an article titled 'How Do We Describe The Buzz Of Skiing To Non-Skiers?' Click here for the link.

This weekend I'll be driving down to Méribel, planning to arrive late on Monday. It'll be interesting to see in person what it looks like. Courchevel opened some of its lifts to the public for a one-off day this week. And Val Thorens, in the same ski area of Les 3 Vallees as Méribel, opens its ski lifts for the winter this weekend. Fingers crossed I'll get a chance to have a ski next week at some point: you will probably see me bang on about it on social media!

Right, I'm off to high five more of my imaginary friends, and perform two hundred more backflips. If you are thinking about having lessons this coming winter, do let me know soon - I'm receiving regular enquiries now. Don't forget to do some fitness for your holiday. See you soon, direct from Méribel, huzzah. Martin.
